Everything You Need to Know About Fishing in Christina Lake, BC

A Well-Kept Secret: Fishing at Christina Lake

Overview

A well-kept secret is the exceptional Bass fishing at Christina Lake. Start as early as May and catch both large- and small-mouth Bass before the season closes in September. It’s the perfect time to enjoy the lake and book early for the best conditions.

But Bass is just the beginning — Christina Lake has fishing for every season and every style. Come for ice fishing, fly fishing, casting, or trolling. The lake and its surrounding waters offer prime opportunities for Rainbow Trout, Kokanee, Mountain Whitefish, Northern Pikeminnow, Carp, and more.

For trophy-sized Rainbow Trout, the best months are March and April, when anglers regularly land 5–15 pound fish using plugs or bucktail flies.

May and June bring excellent Kokanee fishing, with fish up to 1.5 pounds hitting spinners, flies, and live bait.

Other species include Slimy and Prickly Sculpin, Mountain Whitefish, Northern Pikeminnow, and Carp — adding variety for every angler.
